Snap-8 10mg research vial

Snap-8 is an 8 amino acid peptide, a longer form of Argireline; a 10mg vial is 1,500,000 VND ($60 USD). Peptides Ho Chi Minh checked the Snap-8 price on 11 October 2026, and the two Argireline trials below open on PubMed.

What is Snap-8?

Snap-8 is sold under the ingredient name acetyl octapeptide-3. It is a longer form of Argireline (acetyl hexapeptide-3), a 6 amino acid peptide, with two more amino acids added.

Argireline copies part of SNAP-25, a nerve protein that helps muscles get the signal to tighten.

Good to know

Snap-8 is said to share the first 6 amino acids of Argireline, plus 2 more. That link comes from ingredient supplier and reference pages, not from published studies.

Snap-8 and its parent, Argireline

  • About Argireline, human study, 2002. A 30 day study in women measured the depth of their lines with Argireline. Lab tests also looked at the tightening signal it is patterned on.
  • About Argireline, human trial, 2013. A 4 week placebo-controlled study of 60 people in China measured wrinkles near the eyes with Argireline.

This page names three papers, from 2002 to 2020: two on Argireline, the parent peptide, and one on a product that mixed Snap-8's ingredient with others. None isolates Snap-8. Our search of PubMed found no study of Snap-8 on its own. The two studies above are on Argireline, its parent peptide, not on Snap-8. The only paper naming Snap-8's ingredient name, from 2020, tested a product that mixed it with other ingredients, with no comparison group, so it cannot show what Snap-8 alone does.

How to read this

Read every Snap-8 claim with one question: was it tested on Snap-8? For the papers on this page, the answer is no. Two are on Argireline, the 6 amino acid parent, in skin studies of 30 days and 4 weeks, and the 2020 paper tested a product that mixed Snap-8's ingredient with others, so none isolates Snap-8. Snap-8 adds two amino acids, and our search found no study showing what those two change. So the honest summary is short: a cosmetic peptide with a well studied parent and no direct record of its own.

The Snap-8 paper trail

The 2002 Argireline paper ran in a cosmetic science journal. The 2013 study ran in China for 4 weeks. Argireline is acetyl hexapeptide-3. It copies part of SNAP-25, a nerve protein. In lab tests, the 2002 paper found it partly blocked that nerve signal.

Questions about Snap-8

What has research on Snap-8 looked at?

Nothing on Snap-8 alone. The skin studies people quote are on Argireline, its 6 amino acid parent.

What does the Snap 8 peptide do?

No PubMed study tests Snap-8 on its own, so published work cannot say. It is a longer form of Argireline, and Argireline studies looked at the nerve signal that tells face muscles to tighten and at wrinkles. Those findings belong to Argireline, not to Snap-8.
