What is Testagen?
The sequence is also written KEDG. It belongs to the family of short peptides studied by research groups in Russia.
One chicken study describes it as based on extracts of the front part of the pituitary gland.

- Animal study, 2011. Chickens whose pituitary gland had been removed got the peptide, and the team looked at thyroid hormone activity and thyroid structure.
- Cell study, 2013. A test tube study checked whether this and other short peptides bind to histones, the proteins DNA wraps around.

How to read this
Testagen has about the thinnest record on the shelf. One study is in chickens whose pituitary gland had been removed, and one is a test tube study of short peptides and the proteins DNA wraps around. Neither tests anything in people or in mammals. The chicken study links it to pituitary extracts, so do not assume more from the name than the studies say. With 10 records in all, and 8 of them from two Russian groups, more work is needed before anyone can say much about it.
The Testagen paper trail
The chicken study was published in the Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine in 2011, and the histone study in Biochemistry (Moscow) in 2013. Of the 10 PubMed records, 8 come from two Russian groups: bird studies from Chita State Medical Academy, and lab work co-written by V. Khavinson. The other 2 are unrelated. Nothing in our search ties Testagen to the testes, whatever the name suggests.
