5-Amino-1MQ 50mg research vial
5-Amino-1MQ is a small lab-made molecule that blocks the enzyme NNMT; one 50mg vial costs 3,600,000 VND ($140 USD). Peptides Ho Chi Minh checked this price on 11 October 2026, and each 5-Amino-1MQ paper below goes to its PubMed record.
What is 5-Amino-1MQ?
It is not a peptide. Its full name is 5-amino-1-methylquinolinium.
NNMT sits in fat and liver cells and uses up a building block of NAD+. Blocking it is the idea behind the research.
Good to know
5-Amino-1MQ sits in a peptide catalogue, but it is a small molecule, so the peptide studies on other pages say nothing about it. The four papers listed here are three mouse studies and one review.
5-Amino-1MQ in mouse studies and a review
- Animal study, 2018. NNMT blockers from the same chemical family were tested in obese mice on a high-fat diet. The team tracked weight, fat, cholesterol and how much the mice ate.
- Animal study, 2024. A 28 day study in obese mice tested 5-Amino-1MQ, written 5A1MQ in the paper, and measured weight gain, blood sugar and liver fat.
- Animal study, 2022. Obese mice on a low-fat diet got 5-Amino-1MQ or the diet alone. The study followed their weight and their gut bacteria.
- Review, 2024. A review of NNMT noted that no clinical trials of NNMT blockers had been reported.
The studies are mouse work, the fourth paper is a review, and our search found no published human trial.
How to read this
The three 5-Amino-1MQ studies here are in mice, most of them in obese mice on special diets. The 2018 study tested the chemical family, not only this exact compound. The 2024 study is the one that names it directly. A review the same year noted that no NNMT blocker had reached a clinical trial. So the idea is clear and testable, but our search found no test of it in people.
The 5-Amino-1MQ paper trail
The 2018 paper ran in Biochemical Pharmacology and tested methylquinolinium compounds, the family 5-Amino-1MQ belongs to. The 2022 mouse study appeared in Scientific Reports, the 2024 mouse study in Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, and the 2024 review in Frontiers in Pharmacology. The 2024 mouse study uses the short name 5A1MQ.
